Color Me Positive with Pencil Strokes
A seasoned speaker, Heather Ropes tells of her early influences and journey of artistic development and spiritual path which resulted in her distinctive mix of hand-drawn art, uplifting affirmations, and reflections in Pencil Strokes: An Affirmation Coloring Book. Perfect for groups of ten or more, she incorporates fun, reflection and conversation.
A 30-minute presentation includes participants answering provided conversation starters and a brief question and answer time as they color and ponder two selections from Pencil Strokes. A 60-minute presentation also includes an instructional activity in which participants learn how to write powerful, personal affirmations.
Unless you already have particular pages from Pencil Strokes you want to request, tell her about the purpose of your group and she will select two high-interest pages for you. Let her know if you prefer table groups or whole group discussions to spring from the accompanying conversation starters. Heather will help you make it happen.
Prior to the Meeting
- Email your desired meeting date, time and place, general group and contact information to HRopes@msn.com. Yes, she travels!
- A confirmation for arrangements is sent for signature to the host who returns it.
On the Day of the Engagement
- The host will print and hand out the selected art and text to each participant.
- It is recommended that colored pencils be provided by the host unless members bring their own.
- Provide smooth table space or clip boards so everyone can indulge in their creativity.
Fees
- $100 for groups up to 25.
- $200 for groups up to 50.
- Scaled fee for groups greater than 50.
- Travel accommodations and fees discussed as needed.
Biography
R. Heather Ropes has lived border to border and coast to coast in the United States and rarely travels without her drawing supplies. Her exposure to art began at an early age in Montana and Santa Fe. Her great-grandmother’s readings from Unity Church’s Daily Word made affirmative text another early influence. Prayer partners of many faiths encouraged Heather to write a book of prayer and affirmation. Others encouraged her artistic expressions. Joyfully, she speaks about her unique journey that led to the publication of Pencil Strokes: An Affirmation Coloring Book, a mix of hand-drawn art, uplifting affirmations, and text to ponder.
